Petia Gueorguieva

Short Bio

Petia Gueorguieva is a PhD in Political Science from the Université libre de Bruxelles. She works as a Senior Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Sciences of the New Bulgarian University. Her research is focused on Central and Eastern European politics and parties, the processes of Europeanization and democratization. She has published several articles on populism and populist actors in Bulgaria and in Central and Eastern Europe.

Silviu Rogobete

Short Bio

Professor Silviu Rogobete (PhD, Brunel, UK) returned to the Department of Political Science, West University of Timisoara (WUT), after serving as Consul General of Romania in South Africa. He is currently the Director of the Doctoral School of Philosophy, Sociology and Political Science. In 2019 he was appointed Honorary Professor of Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He teaches courses on Human Rights, Religion and Politics, Globalisation and Human Security, Diplomacy and Global Affairs. Since 2019 Professor Rogobete represents WUT in the Academic board of the European Security and Defense College (ESDC), where he also introduced and currently directs two permanent courses on Diplomatic Skills for CSDP Missions (Basic and advanced).

 His recent international research resulted in a series of publications by Springer Nature in the Religion and Human Rights Series.

Short Bio

Cătălin-Gabriel Done is a PhD Candidate at the University of Naples “Federico II” – Department of Political Science

In his academic career, Cătălin-Gabriel obtained a BA Degree in International Relations and European Integration and a Master’s Degree in Political Science at SNSPA, Bucharest. He has worked with several national and international bodies, Including IOM and Europe Elects. Currently, he is the vice-president and researcher at ESGA Romania, where he deals with the EU’s relationship with the Eastern Partnership, especially with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, and the perspective of the transnational Orthodox Church’s thought, practice and geopolitics.

Phd Canditate Floris-Adrian IONESCU is an expert of the Ministry of National Defense. His area of expertise covers crisis management and conflict prevention, counter-terrorism and weapons intelligence. Also, his professional experience has been opersationally tested within NATO and EU led operations troughout the globe. Vincent Henry

Short Bio

Expert in educational and university cooperation. He was deputy director of the Central and Eastern Europe Office of the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie before joining the French agency for international technical expertise.

He holds a master’s degree in international relations from the Institut des Relations Internationales et Stratégiques and a PhD in political science from the Université Paris-Est.

He is a member of the Laboratoire Interdisciplinaire de l’Etude du Politique Hannah Arendt (LIPHA). His research focuses on political, cultural and social developments in Central and Eastern Europe, with a specialisation on Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria.

Delia Pop-Flanja

Delia Pop-Flanja is an Associate Professor in Communication Sciences at the Faculty of European Studies of Babeş-Bolyai University – Cluj-Napoca, Department of European Studies and Governance. She holds a PhD in Philology, on Cultural Typologies and Cross-Cultural Adaptation, an MA in Intercultural Business Communication and a BA in Philology (French and English). Her research interests include communication skills, intercultural communication, multilingualism, discourse analysis and crisis communication.

Laura Maria Herța – PhD in History, Associate Professor of International Relations and Vice-dean at the Faculty of European Studies in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. She is also senior Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg, South Africa. Author of several books and articles on the history of Yugoslavia and the wars in Former Yugoslavia, as well as author of chapters and articles tackling EU as normative power, humanitarian intervention in Sub-Saharan Africa, transformation of war, the role of ethnicity in South Caucasus. Interested in: peace studies and security studies, humanitarian intervention, the Balkan region, Sub-Saharan Africa, social-constructivist theorizing.

Silviu Nate

Dr. Silviu NATE is an associate professor at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, the Security Studies undergraduate program coordinator, and the director of the Global Studies Center. His analytical interests focus mainly on the Wider Black Sea Region and transatlantic relations.

He coordinated several policy papers on energy, migration, security in the Black Sea and influenced strategic decisions for strengthening the Allied presence in the region.
